Green Alliance a Strong Presence at
Airport
Hearing
----
Business,
Labor Community Comes Out in Force to Support this
Next Critical Step for a Modern Airport
The
message of economic growth from the business and labor
communities was heard loud and clear at last night's
EIS Scoping meeting for expansion at Green
Airport
in Warwick. Over the past few weeks the Alliance has
been contacting supporters to encourage attendance
at the event. The community heeded that call, with
strong attendance and a clear message of support for
economic growth and jobs. Thank You!
We
would also like to thank Bryant University President
and Go Green Co-Chair Ronald Machtley, Rhode Island
AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer and Alliance Vice-Chair
George Nee as well as Greater Providence Chamber President
Jim Hagan, Kip Bergstrom of the Rhode Island Economic
Policy Council and Dick Plotkin, chair of the Chamber's
Transportation Committee, for taking the time to present
their thoughts on the EIS to the committee at last
night's meeting. This show of support from our community
leaders is crucial to our success.
